Newcastle pleased me with a 1-0 victory over Wigan on Saturday. This leaves the Magpies at the 6th position on the table. A very agreeable start to the season. The entire league has next weekend off. International team responsibilities cause the break in the schedule. The next premiership game for Newcastle will be Derby on the 17th.
I got to watch a fair amount of soccer this weekend. On replay yesterday, I watched all of the Tottenham-Fulham match which was a very entertaining game and featured goals by two of my fantasty players for the West Side Magpies, Dmitri Berbatov for the Spurs and Clint Dempsey for Fulham. I also caught a little more than half of the AC Milan-Florentina match from Serie A. It was great to see AC Milan, they play a very entertaining brand of soccer, alot of talent on that squad. So far, the Premiership review show on Sunday night has been appointment television.
