I have to say the Adopted Team scenario for baseball season worked like a charm. I followed the Indians all season long and they ended up in the postseason. It was alot of fun to watch the development of Fausto Carmona, the stardom of Grady Sizemore and CC Sabathia and the strange success of Joe Borowski in the pen. The problem is now they face the Yankees. I am not a big Yankee hater. I don’t really see who is hate worthy on their team besides A-Rod. I love Jeter, Posada, Roger and Mariano. You can’t root for them though unless you were born into it, its like rooting for the house at the casino.
The problem is the Yankees swept the season series with the Indians, 6-0. Many of those games were not close. Its a new season now, yadda, yadda, but I do think certain teams have a hard time stepping up against the Yankees. I am hoping the Indians can do that this week.
In a perfect bit of timing, I start another house/dog sitting gig for the lady this weekend. So, Friday thru Monday, I will have full access for HD sports action. The playoffs got off to a great start yesterday with three close games. I don’t see a perfect team in the batch and I really think anyone can take it. I would have put the Angels as my AL favorite but they stumbled out of the gate last night and they do not have home field vs the Soxes. I could see any of the 8 taking the World Series. Here is the Indians-Yanks schedule
Game 1, Today 6:37 Yanks at Cleveland, Wang v Sabathia
Game 2, Friday 5:07 Yanks at Cleveland, Pettitte v Carmona
Game 3, Sunday 6:37 Cleveland at Yanks, Westbrook v Rocket
Game 4, Monday 6:07, Cleveland at Yanks, Byrd v Mussina
Game 5, Wednesday, 5:07, Yanks at Cleveland, Wang v Sabathia
The Indians are hot and they are at home but I am fearful of Yanks mojo and a little postseason inexperience from the Tribe.
I’ll take CC in game 5 at home to spin a masterpiece. Indians move on with a 3-2 series victory.
GO TRIBE!
