The Relegation Fight is On in Newcastle

I have been a bit delinquent on my all things football posts as of late. Well, here is a good reason why my boys Newcastle in the Barclay’s Premier League are in a fight to stay out of relegation. They are currently 14th in the standings but only 4 points away from the final relegation spot. Here are the standings

The change of coaches to Kevin Keegan as done nothing to change the fortunes of the club. Out of their last possible 39 points (that is 13 games) the Magpies have managed to take only four points.  The club has a mish mash of talent or lack thereof after the signings of Big Sam Allerdyce during the offseason. I really have no idea if they are going to be able to stay above or not. It will certainly spice up the last couple of months of games though.

They have a series of games against other teams at the bottom of the table as they call it. Yesterday was the first and they only managed a tie at home against Birmingham City, 1-1. They have another relegation battle against Fulham this Saturday at 11 am est and it will be available via Fox Soccer Channel.

GO MAGPIES!
