RIP to Founder of Popeye’s

Before today, I never knew who the founder of Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken was. It was Al Copeland. I have been enjoying Popeye’s for probably 3 or 4 years now. The Senior Senator from Pennsylvania turned me onto on one of our Jazzfest trips to New Orleans.  For a fast food chain, they make some amazing fried chicken and red beans and rice.   You should check out the obit, he seemed to live a very Big Easy existence, complete with bribing the judge that presided over his divorce.

A coworker here is going out to pick me up a 2 piece, spicy white meat with red beans and rice in memorial.
